Introduction:

O'Mahony's of Watergrasshill is a family-run country pub and food venue in North Cork; the venue is only 10 minutes from the Dunkettle Interchange, near Cork City.

Re-opened in 2016 by Máire O'Mahony and her partner Victor Murphy, customers to O'Mahony's now enjoy great local food and drink in stunning modern rustic surroundings.

The creative influence of Máire's art background is obvious in the stylish re-design; Máire has an MA in fine art from the Crawford College of Art and Design and a BA in Fine Art from NCAD. Máire cut her teeth in the events industry as a volunteer with many arts festivals. Máire grew up in the pub and during her college years worked in hospitality in Ireland, France, Brussels and San Francisco. She is proud to be the fourth generation landlady of O’Mahony’s of Watergrasshill.

Victor Murphy has 30 years experience in hospitality in Cork including bars restaurants and nightclubs. His most recent venture was House café at Cork opera house which was a McKenna’s Guide award-winning café and catering business in the foyer of Cork Opera house.

Since opening O'Mahony's has become a showcase for local food producers in North Cork; in 2019 they hosted the Old Butter Roads Food Festival . They also host a weekly 'Neighbourfood' market offering great products direct from local farms and food producers.

Weddings and Events Info:

Oozing modern rustic vibes with a gastropub, outdoor courtyard and converted barn event space, O’Mahony’s of Watergrasshill is a newbie (only two-years-old) on the alternative wedding circuit.
In 2018 O'Mahony's hosted a handful of boutique weddings; each unique and beautifully reflecting the individual personalities of the wedding couples.

A laid-back early summer wedding oozed music festival vibes due to the wedding couples music industry backgrounds. A small winter wedding was hosted in the cosy pub environs; giving it intimate and gorgeous feels.

A much larger large wedding hosted recently worked a dream in the beautiful surrounds of the Long Room and outdoor courtyard.

The seated capacity for weddings is 140 between the bar and Long Room. Another 80 could be seated in a marquee on site. The capacity for a buffet-style wedding would be 250 using the bar, Long Room and a marquee.
